The country that we are all so lucky to live in is without a shadow of a doubt the greatest in the world bar none, but in spite of the fact that this is the case there are certain aspects of this country that might make a few people here and there kind of uncomfortable and for good reason. One aspect of this country that you might just be a little bit wary of is the fact that slavery used to be commonplace here to the point where it was the backbone of the southern economy.
All of this changed on the 19th of June due to the reason that slavery was abolished and anyone that had previously been enslaved was now set free. It is important to note that this date is really critical to the descendants of slaves, and this is why we should rent Austin party buses to celebrate this holiday. The day is often called Juneteenth, and it forms an essential part of the cultural consciousness of our community to the point where everyone should take part in it, not just the African American community.
These are things that help us come to terms with who we are and where we come from. Blindly assuming that your country is perfect and always has been is something that will not get you anywhere in life, and quite on the contrary it will make you feel like you are in a box and are unable to get any true information at the end of the day. Facing the truth of your country’s history is an essential part of helping to make it better.
