It is not difficult to measure cabinet drawer boxes. There are two keys to the scope and hardware which completed the operation successfully. There is a helpful guide to getting the right size next, but the best way to make sure your heavy duty slide rails of the drawer box are the right size is to check your hardware specifications.
After reviewing the installation instructions for the hardware you intend to use, the first thing to consider is the extent of the drawer, which refers to the amount of overlap between the front of the drawer and the panel or cabinet end panel. To avoid overlaps, you must insert the front face. To calculate the depth of the drawer, you need to know whether the front of the drawer is covered or covered. The front of the plug-in usually requires a slightly shallower drawer box. The next thing to consider before ordering a drawer is the material you intend to use. There are two types of drawer hardware:
- Side rails are installed on the side of the heavy duty slide rails of the drawer box. You can view these slides by opening the drawer box. You can use slides attached to 3/4 or the fully extended sides representing the distance between the drawer and the cabinet. Most side slides require 1/2 “to 17/32″ permits on each side of the drawer. In other words, for proper installation, you will need to reduce each drawer by 1 1/16” from the opening of each drawer.
- It is attached to the bottom of the drawer box on the slide installed in the bottom part, not to see it when you open the drawer. It is much more expensive than most side-mounted slides and usually has many left-to-right and top-to-bottom adjustments. A 3/32 “to 5/32” clearance is required on each side of the drawer for the bottom slide to function correctly. The drawer should be 3/16 inch to 5/16 inch narrower than the opening.
